Well I watched the show and good to see they're looking for people that can actually dance rather than just wear revealing clothes etc.

Haven't watched it, but just saw an advert on channel 10. Looks like the dark fellow there was an American negro .... I hope it stays Australian, getting a bit tired of us not doing anything by ourselves.

The program's Australian. Seems that they did auditions in Perth, Brisbane and (presumably) Melbourne and Sydney. Not sure about Adelaide. So an American would have had to be in one of those cities to be on it.

I have a problem with watching channel 10 - must have been the Big Brother rubbish that turned me off, I don't even normally look at their program guide.

I watched the Singing Bee from the US, that was entertaining, didn't see much of the Aussie version.

Channel 10 still has novelty value down here since (don't laugh too hard everyone else ;)) we've only had it for a few years since digital broadcasting started. And it's still the only commercial channel in HD here which suits me fine since I just got a nice new HD TV.

Funny thing is, the local Ch 10 broadcast is actually a joint venture of the other two commercial TV channels in Tas. Not sure how that works with the ratings and volume of advertising etc but presumably it makes a profit somehow.

To my knowledge TDT (ie Channel 10 in Tas) is Australia's first commercial channel that has never broadcast an analogue signal and never will. :2twocents

Oh well, we all like different things. Digital or not, if what they broadcast is not interesting, then is sort of doesn't matter.

I find I am watching a lot more of SBS, since I have an ever increasing interest in history and the natural world - must be something about aging where we start remembering the past....

Have thought about moving to Tassie to escape the rat race, then I keep thinking about how small the island really is

So you think you can dance Australia :bad:    :goodnight

I'm put off shows like that; I watched one episode last year, ghastly. Some woman in tights was dancing rather enthusiastically, & evidently had a sweat-stain on an area not to be discussed on a public forum ... found it most distasteful! :p:

I watched the show.

Loved the 15yo, what talent! Shame he is too young.

I enjoy shows like this, not just because it's dancing but also because it encourages kids to put in the hard work to achieve something.

cheers

Agreed the program has to be worth watching. I've only watched this one once... But I was referring to Ch 10 in general and not just one program. It's just the novelty value of having a choice. Bog Bother was a total turn off though, even moreso when another station here ran it as well.

As for the size of Tas, tell that to the supplier's representative we've got coming here tomorrow from Melbourne. They're in for a bit of a rude shock when they realise they've got about 850km of driving to do between sites then back again to get the boat. Wouldn't listen, haven't allowed enough time etc and the odds of them getting back home on time are zero. Not to worry, I've got a tent I can lend... :p:
