ASF Members: Going Troppo

old threads are interesting ... just read the 2009 posts.. people received infractions? Has Joe mellowed?

The cool change is through, the buster has southerlied.

I haven't been slapped on the wrist for a while now since I realised the people I was targeting are insane and I really should not make their lives worse.
squirming is bad ju-ju
The golden rule is never post while drunk. which restricts most of us to posting before noon unfortunately.
and that's a real problem when East coasters are dealing with W.A. posters.

i have noticed manu people going troppo on various threads and am getting sick of the garbage. I am restricting my posts to threads where people have a special interest such as the Gold Heading thread, BHP, the competitions, the music thread, or those who have died recently and I can think of a few of whom an appearance in the latter thread would make me extremely gruntled.

Just go away. Begone. Please annoy somebody else. I am not interested, even slightly. If I never heard the words "double block" ever again it would be heaven.

End of.

Re: ABC is Political

I haven't been a member of many forums, but I must say, I was slapped down when I stood up for nunthewiser.

It wasn't by the moderators as much as by fellow members. After digesting the rebuffs, I realised the forum self regulated the outrageous posters.

Since then I've had several differences of opinion with various posters and in a lot of instances have found that their opinion is more valid and accurate than mine.

I think this is a problem with forums generally.

There are people who want to push their opinion, right or wrong and won't listen to reason.
Then there are people, who want to test their beliefs and have them challenged, by people with similar interests.

I think ASF is a reasonably balanced forum and was a bit confused by 'countrylad's' comments.
To me they seemed a bit mischeivious for a laid back guy.
Also if he is a moderator on other forums, please tell me which ones, so I can avoid them.:xyxthumbs

@moXJO and @sptrawler . I cannot remember what happened to nun.

Just got transferred with work from grey old London to our new home in
Newman, Western Australia. Now this is a town that knows how to live!
Beautiful, sunny days and warm, balmy evenings. I watched the sunset
from
a deckchair by the pool yesterday. It was beautiful. I've finally found
my
new home I love it here.

September 13
Really heating up now. It got to 31 today. No problem though. Living in
air-conditioned home, driving air-conditioned car.
What a pleasure to see the sun every day like this. I'm turning into a
sun-worshipper.

September 30th
Had the back yard landscaped with tropical plants today. Lots of palms
and
rocks. No more mowing lawns for me.
Another scorcher today, but I love it here.
