Hi Guys,

I have been analysing a few shares, but all the companies that I understand their fundamentals, such as CBA, WES, BHP appears to be trading high. Due to this, I have been sitting on the fence now for a couple of months, waiting for the next indicator on their next movements.

My question is, which shares are you thinking of buying next and why?

That can't really be answered as it could be taken as advice....that's against the rules so don't expect too many giving live calls on new positions. There are plenty of discussions on specific stocks on the stock thread however.

I agree that the market seems toppy, as it did three times in the last 5 years... so if buying shares now violates the rules or principles of your personal investing strategy then stand aside. If you don't have a plan, then get/develop one.

.....I would suggest that rather than looking for stocks to buy, you first decide what your plan is...:2twocents

Great advice CanOz. I guess I'll just wait on the sidelines till I see a trend that I like. As I am still on L-Plates, my plan is simple, buy blue chip shares of companies that I understand how they run and have good potential for capital growth.

Resource Stocks missed out in the last run up.
This time round, it seems to me, they are faring better.
Just an opinion, mind.

I think resources stocks have had their run. I'm waiting for some of them to drop to 'buy' price levels again.

Which shares am I currently buying?

None!
I am waiting very patiently for my poor picks to
pick up their collective skirts and take a run.

So far, AXE Archer Resources has been pleasing!

This is not advice, just my opinion.

I presume your thinking large cap resource stocks?!
Even so!!

You are right, I am thinking of the large resources companies. BHP for example, I see their ideal buy-in price around $30. It appears that around that price, it gains some support and resistance level is at $36.

Unfortunately for me, I don't follow the smaller resources companies, as I don't know enough about them and their operations.

BHP & RIO have just had a shot in the arm with the fall of the Aussie dollar and a rise in Iron Ore prices!

My Iron Ore hopeful is neither BHP nor RIO, but FMS Flinders Mining!

In my humble opinion (DYOR, only my :2twocents, not advice, your money your responsibility etc.) it may be worth doing some research on some bio/medical stocks. A few of them are doing very well lately.

Plus it very much depends on what your goals are - if you plan on holding for a few years, not day trading etc. then I'd have a look at larger stocks. Something like the big banks is not going to bottom out overnight, but probably wont make you rich in a week either. So determine how patient and risk averse you are, then set a plan and goals. Only after that should you look at which actual stocks to purchase, as those factors are going to shortlist your choices anyway.

:)
