Where to read about ASX listed companies?

Hi All,

if you look at 10-k forms of US companies the first part is about the business, what they do etc. I was wondering where I may find the similar information for ASX companies?

You will find financial metrics on Yahoo Finance for AUS listed stock. Some metrics are off like Beta which I can show you how to derive.

You can then use the name of the company to find their website and announcements.

So if you're an investor for a government entity or sovereign wealth fund; financial metrics come first; to analyse long term revenue and NPAT over sustained durations of time. Temporal is the term in ecological science studies.

On ASX website, type in the company name or ticker.
There is a list of announcements.
Annual reports or prospectuses can be found there as announcements or on each individual company website, which will usually have the same announcements documents.

Commsec has an "about" tab on every ASX company which gives a brief outline of what they do. QuickFS which is a paid service with 10 year fundamentals, also has a business summary section. I would be surprised if other brokers dont also have this available.

I've noticed CommSec is getting more thorough, and less inaccurate. Sometimes it is dated but generally a few paragraphs of content now.
