I see a discussion thread from 2016 noting the closing of thinkorswim services to Australian option traders. I was with Optionsxpress for about a year and was happy with the service. However I did close because my account last year to pursue other investment opportunities. I recontacted them today to reactivate my account only to be told that their terms and conditions have changed in the interim and as a result I will need to deposit a minimum of $25,000 into my account to trade. This doesn't seems fair given that they charge every time I do trade. Is anyone aware if any other service that provides options trading on the US market for Australians thanks

I don't trade options myself but use Tradezero as my US broker. They do options but can't comment on commissions for options as I don't trade them. They are very cheap for stock trading commissions and I don't believe they have minimum to start account.
Have a look at their website and see what you think.

I don't have personal experience with them yet and not sure they offer options trading but I like what I heard so far about ************. They say they take their cut from the conversion between AUD/USD and free trades.

Personally my OptionsXpress account was migrated to Charles Schwab when they were bought last year and so far I'm happy with them.

If seeking to trade options in the US, for a free options educational site it's hard to beat aeromir.com

I have accounts with Interactive Brokers and Charles Schwab. IB is better once you learn how to use them but CS is easier when you are first learning.
