Where are all you Climate nonsense gals and guys.

Doesn't Weather matter anymore, or was it just all politics.

It has been an unusually mild winter here at the The Ross Island Hotel in Townsville, and all you Green lubbers can do is go on about Parlee Elementary Democracy.

So much for commitment to ideals.

Am I the only person who measures a rain gauge on ASF?

At least the Mad Hatter and Tony Abbott are consistent in calling it crap.

The Ruddmeister and La Gill gave up on it , and the Labor Hollowmen couldn't give a monkeys as long as the ALP get re-elected. Even ole Bob Brown has gone quiet on it and Peter Garrett , well lets not talk about him, after all the damage he caused.

Next they will want our brown land covered in windmills, and our beaches with desalination plants.

Don Quixote will ride again on Rosenante before anyone will dare talk Weather again in politics in Australia I would wager.

firstly, thanks for your wonderful PM last week - what prompted such an unprovoked thing has me beat - i consider that one a one-off.

as for the self proclaimed weather gurus. maybe theyve been more concerned finding a job than following ideals.

anyway - for us melburnians it is time to celebrate - 1st time in 14 years we might actually get average rainfall. its been a good ol traditional miserable mongrel cold winter down here - sun rarely seen, days of drizzle, then showery days then rainy days - the sort of stuff that fills dams (both main supplies & farmers) and keeps rivers flowing, which we havent seen this last decade. also gives sydney folk something factual to compare with melbourne lol.

im not one to jump on a soap box and tell the listening that global warming is something to be concerned with, but when you see so many dry years in a row, so many farmers walk away, so many dust storms, the summer of 08/09, then there is justification for their stories of doom & gloom as a result of changing weather patterns.

the situation we endured during the last decade i certainly dont want to see again, but i guess if it does occur again in the not too distant future, then maybe THEY were onto something - but by then is it too late ?

Hear Hear son of baglimit, good to finally see a decent winter in Melbourne again : )

The wildflowers are abundant on the Geraldton-Mt magnet road

and if one is real careful they can get a glimpse of a "wreath flower" or 3 behind Pindar coffee shop.

every year they come out.

should take a photo just in case they hear of climate change and stop that gigazillion age old tradition.

Apparently it's the wettest winter in 30 years in Hawkes Bay NZ.

You could probably make a fortune snapping up coastal properties all along the eastern seaboard that are threatened by erosion.

I hear some of them are going at quite a discount.

Here's the high tide mark at Bondi today.http://www.northbondirsl.com.au/cam.html It's a full moon but as you can see there wasn't much room for the sunbakers at high tide today :cautious:

Heard ex weatherman Rob Gell on the radio stating that more severe floods are what you would expect from global warming.

In a La Nina, the warmer seas will mean more moisture in the atmosphere from evaporation and therefore more rain and therefore increased likelihood of flooding.

Makes sense to me.

When the La Nina pattern ends he expects severe drought again.
