Theres been some massive gains that have been made over the years and im just curious to know who from here has got the best of them....

So what stock, percentage gain, and over what time frame roughly ?

2000% in 3 minutes -

Ok that translates to 20/1 on a horse called BAGLIMIT - funny about that (hence my name) - 1988 Victoria Cup - lets just say i bought a house with it.

Wow. 14c. Talk about being on the ball!
And Baglimit, you must have had inside info to risk that much.

My best is probably CSL, first tranche of 1200 bought for $2.65, now about $55, still hold. Have bought more on the way up.

been making a bit out of options the last few weeks but thats beginners luck and if I average all the trades I'm only up 100%.

best win based on value investing approach was TBC bought at 8c, sold at 40c (had to sell because it was taken over).

Investment of $1000 = $33000 profit
$3000 would have got you a cool 100 large!

I was just very, very lucky! : It was one of my first shares I ever bought, TOTAL beginners luck, and I liken it now to gambling! I keep thinking if only I had put more money on it, but because it was such a gamble I only bought around $500 worth at 14c - nice profit but if only I had......

Since then I have bought in at higher levels and traded these a bit too but I still keep my lucky first purchase - mainly because CGT is such a killer

Lehman Brothers (LEH - NYSE) bought at around US$3.50, sold around US$35.00, 900% profit (price is now over $63!).

In the Aussie market, Monadelphous (MND), currently holding and up 479%.

Prospector – a very nice trade on PDN. Well done! Anything over 2000% in my view is exceptionally good - hitting 3000% and above is "somewhere over the rainbow"!

Staybaker - a great trade on LEH - 900% floats my boat! (By the way, did you enter this around Oct/Dec 1995, and exit around Sept 2000 by any chance?)

cuttlefish - that's one sweet options trade, bet you were pleased with that one at around the 500% mark! Great work!
