What is Calling trades in Hindsight?
Joe and other ASF members would appreciate some feed back please.
Your definition of a 'Hindsight trade' and can we learn from them?.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda... problem is you have no idea what impact your decision to trade or not to trade a particular share at a particular price has on everyone else. Someone might have a trigger set based on volume, or market depth, or on buy/sell volatility, or anything that you contribute to.

I dont mind hindsight trades that are used to demonstrate a technique or method, they're definitely useful for learning / confirming things and sharing ideas.

the annoying ones are those where people post a closing trade & points won but didn't post the corresponding entry. so its a bit meaningless as you can't follow the decision making then went into the entry, all you hear about is the result - makes me wonder about the trades that didn't go so well, do we hear about those??

having said that I'm sure I post hindsight trades from time to time, but hopefully not frequently enough to annoy others

I think, in my humble opinion, you've hit the nail on the head. Where the hindsight trades that are posted are occasional and/or used to demonstrate a theory etc, they are useful, even helpful.

Where they are used by someone to celebrate their overwhelming brilliance and/or as an attempt build credibility then they're irratating and a waste of bandwidth.

yes agree Doc, if its a fantastic trade then great, like a brilliant goal or solo try created from nothing thats something to behold, I'll gladly applaud - but not penalty kicks & overlaps in the backline....

I guess we all have to accept that this is a free bb. isn't there a user-filter option somewhere if anyone is that annoying?

There needs to be an educational value, IMO. Otherwise it's just self serving, of course.

If you click a poster's name and go to their profile, you have the option of adding people to your ignore list so you won't see their posts.

cool thanks Doc - personally I doubt I'd ever use it the mods seem to do a good job of keeping the masses under control

What is calling trades in Hindsight? please.
You're asking the wrong question Bronte. A trade is called in hindsight if it's not posted as soon as practicable after taking the trade - that's not rocket science and has been communicated to you numerous times in the past. The question you should be asking is when is it appropriate to call a trade in hindsight.

Thank you doctorj for your definition.
When is it appropiate?

Bit OT from OP

This would be more a wishlist forum feature, but perhaps if there was a anomomous nice way (stars, elephant stamps :p:, thumbs up/down) readers could vote on a poster posts, which only the poster could see, giving them a opportunity to review their writing style/pov as opposed to blocking them out all together may be better...??? IMO

This is similar to Slashdot's metamoderation and has been discussed previously here -https://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4528
