What do you collect?

As in valuables or things that appreciate, or just trinkets or weird things?

I'm rather fond of passport stamps - in my passport. Each tells a story

Yeah me too. Had my old one which was full, and new one which was half full, stolen in Argentina recently. Spewin!

I used to collect elephants and ganeshes, but it was getting a little hard to move around the house.

Ethnobotanical plants, used books (philosophy, religion and plays especially Greek tradgedy and anything by Goethe) and pre 1946 Aus coins (some of which I pay way more than their silver content price).

Anyone remember a comedy series called "Ripping Yarns" with Michael Palin in it? There was a pretty funny episode where an old bloke collected exotic diseases

Antique metal or ceramic golly wogs. Not politically correct nowdays.
Have one 30cm "golly wog" cast metal money box which is stamped "Jolly ****** Bank" on the back !
Hard to find stuff nowdays, pay heaps.

Anything, but mainly stuff that people have a big interest in, which at times may be hard to get in your local area.
Ah, OK.

I also have a bad habbit of collecting watches.

Since girls can collect all sorts of rediculous jewelry, I decided that watches should be my equivalent.

Wine (although I tend to drink it too!)
Computers (not really but I seem to end up with a heap of them from various friends and in different states of working order)
Music (around 30Gb of MP3s thus far, all legally purchased)

Nice.
Those Ganeshas sound good. I plan to get a big one oneday.
I bought a big one in central Indonesia a number of years back. Bought it off the hotel I was staying at.

Sits at my front door guarding the house. (Well, he's in storage at the moment)

He's a protector of sacred places and remover (and creator if required) of obstacles.

The ganesha on my necklace is assisting with my travels...

Nice work. Guess I can go to Bali and have them make me one. Plenty of carvers in Bali.
Cheers..
