Tulips and The Cloud

here's a chance to monetise the nebulous concept. Launching soon.
BetaShares Cloud Computing ETF (CLDD) will provide exposure to a diversified portfolio of companies operating in the cloud computing sector, one of the strongest growing segments of the global technology sector. Current examples of companies in the index that CLDD will aim to track are Xero, Shopify, DropBox and Zoom.
Exposure to a diversified portfolio of leading companies in the global cloud computing industry, a sector under-represented in the Australian sharemarket .... To be eligible for inclusion in CLDD's portfolio, a company must meet minimum revenue thresholds for their cloud-based services. CLDD's index is constructed so that it prioritises companies that generate the majority of their revenues from cloud-based services.
- Not sure it is for me.

Narrative narrative..would you make an etf for companies which "use computers"
Cloud based is part of the tools any decent IT architect will use.for redundacy, for backup, for distributed apps etc etc
Qldfrog for example is running his AB systems on aws clouds, should i belong to that ETF..
Just a bit cynical, but clouds now just part of another woke/trendy narrative, and now green clouds ROL so your pr0n watching will soon save the planet, as long as you use no plastic straws in your fantasies

when I saw this, and thought of somewhere to put it, a couple of thoughts

1. ASF Search throws up Cloud Computing thread.. dated 2009 ,,, first post
"Probably already missed the bandwagon, but is cloud computing the next big" etc
2. Search threw up Tulips (lol)
3. An ETF like this is just a Second Order construct for lazy investing.
Client: I really need to get out of banks and BHP, and put my money to work in the new economy? .. Adviser: Its hard to buy specific stocks, but hey how about, drum roll, Cloud Computing.
Which leads me to think that 'asleep' and 'woke' are describing the same thing. Such are modern semantic shifts
