I've just started reading Leon Wilson's "The Business of Share Trading" (2003) and he discusses a few packages. He says that he uses MetaStock (presumably the pro version) & EzyChart pro himself.

Leon Wilson is still using MetaStock, but seems to have ditched EzyChart in favour of BullCharts. Almost all of his indicators are already included in BullCharts and his latest book includes the formulas for his indicators in both MetaStock and BullCharts format.

Wilson also uses TradeSim for system testing. TradeSim will work with both MetaStock and BullCharts. BullCharts probably works a little better with TradeSim than MetaStock does which is understandable, as BullCharts are supportive of TradeSim and promote it, whereas Equis actually seem to try to discourage users from using TradeSim.
