CBS boasts some of television's highest paid hosts and actors
CBS has the biggest audience, and, not surprisingly, it also has some of the stars making the most dough in TV land.
"Late Show" host David Letterman pulls down a cool $32 million a year to lead the late-night hosts, according to TV Guide's annual salary survey.
"CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric's $15 million a year paycheck is the most among news anchors.
And Charlie Sheen's $875,000 per show check for each episode of the hit sitcom "Two and A Half Men," leads the comedy world, according to the survey.
Each year, TV Guide gathers salaries of some of the medium's biggest stars, and the figures are huge. The mag found that some shows are feeling the economic squeeze with some actors getting the same pay as a year ago as networks and producers work to keep costs stable.
But the big names are doing fine: Bad boy actor Keifer Sutherland, for instance, makes $550,000 for each of the episodes of Fox's series "24." Sutherland is the highest paid drama actor, followed by Hugh Laurie, of Fox's "House," along with Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," who all make $400,000 per episode.
Elsewhere on the dial, "American Idol's" Ryan Seacrest earns $15 million a year to lead the reality host category. Not included in TV Guide's survey is his "Idol" cohort Simon Cowell, who earns an estimated $36 million a year.
Kyra Sedgwick who stars in TNT's "The Closer" pulls down $275,000 per episode, followed by "Rescue Me" star Denis Leary, whose salary is pegged at $250,000 an episode.
radio presenters can get similar figures.. Kyle Sandilands was getting upwards of 400k
