With the free trade agreement and it's opportunities what benefits does anyone see for Australian Companies and thier prices on the ASX?

Pity about the sugar, as i hold CSR :(

Is this why San Miguel has made a bid for National Foods and whats next?

As it unfolds, will there be more takeovers, particularly as Chinese companies look at Australia also.

Philippines beverage giant San Miguel has launched a counter bid for dairy processor National Foods, making an offer of $6 a share, 55 cents higher than a previous offer from New Zealand-based Fonterra.

While Nat Foods has rejected the Fonterra offer as "grossly inadequate", spokesman Ian Greenshields is recommending the San Miguel bid to shareholders.

The best performer on the last day of trade for 2004 has been Esperance Minerals, who saw their share soar 60.00 per cent, or 6 cents, to 16 cents.

The biggest drop has been recorded by Q Limited. Their shares plummeted 45.00 per cent, or 1.8 cents, to 2.2 cents.

Maybe Woodside will gain from China's thirst as well as many other resource stocks..where's that crystal ball..
