I thought all New Zealanders of fighting age, were over here putting up scaffold. ?What would happen if say Malaysia, Peru or even Fiji decided to take over New Zealand?
They only have 2 serious naval vessels. 2 Anzac class frigates which we built with them. They did the right thing having the two ships. They also have 2 patrol ships that are pretty good (for patrol ships).
The Airforce has 9 Seasprite helicopters and only one patrol plane (3 more ordered).
They have a lot of historic aircraft including a plane captured from the Japanese in WW2 so I suppose they could man some resistance.
A bit harsh.
How does that song go? "B B Baby you aint seen nothin yet".
It reminds me of that foolish statement b RJ Hawke.A bit harsh.
Increases in electricity cost are largely due to factors outside their control.
Nevertheless, they were idiots to ever promise a $275 drop in bills.
It reminds me of that foolish statement b RJ Hawke.
"By 1990, no child will live in Poverty".
For the life of me I just don't understand why politicians make these silly promises.
It always ends up badly.

The first sign of problems is when the Govt commits to a target of any kind, everyone rolls up their sleeves and get the cash registers running, it's party poppers time.Ah yes, the first sign of b.s. is when targets turn into "aspirations".
Using that specific example, an awful lot of children were living in poverty not long afterward when the wheels fell off the economy. It reminds me of that foolish statement b RJ Hawke.

The reasoning seems pretty sound. Over 55's are much less likely to get jobs than younger people. I'd like to see longer term young unemployed in training programs, its their best chance if they really want a job.The Govt appears to be adopting a sensible approach IMO, it is pointless importing workers and making unemployment a viable option.
Sad but sensible outcome.
'I genuinely was starving': Abby lived on Youth Allowance while studying and couldn't afford essentials
Young Australians and social services advocates are dismayed the federal budget looks set to include a modest boost to the JobSeeker payment, but only for those over 55.www.abc.net.au
I would give everyone 12 months to find a job of their choice, they can do free training in selected fields at any time. The reasoning seems pretty sound. Over 55's are much less likely to get jobs than younger people. I'd like to see longer term young unemployed in training programs, its their best chance if they really want a job.
I think it should be $300 a week (probably will be by the time I submit this)
Then raised for people over 45, raised again for over 55's
Pension needs to go back to 65. Tax free super should be available at 55 and over if you retire.
I would give everyone 12 months to find a job of their choice, they can do free training in selected fields at any time.
After 12 months they have to learn something, then they have to work in that field, if they don't, then put them on the basics card
Well the whole situation is crazy really, we are importing nearly a million workers because we don't have enough and yet there are young people complaining they can't get work. The reasoning seems pretty sound. Over 55's are much less likely to get jobs than younger people. I'd like to see longer term young unemployed in training programs, its their best chance if they really want a job.
