Unless Tigers win 10 from next 11 I think the only thing that is certain is that Rawlings will not be coaching next year. They have made sure the "caretaker" coach is exactly that.
It is obvious that the Tigers fancy themselves, and are positioning themselves to snare the best available heavyweight coach (to which I speak of Buckley, Malthouse etc).
I don't think they wanted to be seen to have Campbell or King as frontrunners for 2010. Smart move really. From this move it is obvious that they will only except Campbell or King if all other high profile coaches turn down the position.
Hope Rawlings does well.
