Sheedy to the end of the year for old times sake and then a new gun for next year, maybe Buckley.
I think Wayne Campbell might be too much "old school Richmond" and not seen enough as "new blood". The one problem might be people thinking that Campbell is just more of the same Wallace coaching style.
If I was a CEO I'd be jumping at the chance to sign up someone like Damien Hardwick. A premiership player, a recognised hard nut and team man, played under Sheedy and Williams, and has won a premiership as assistant coach with the Hawks under Clarkson.
Brings experience, enthusiasm, knowledge, fresh ideas and a clean sweep. I know he is thought of very highly at the Hawks. Rumour has it that Hardwick was ahead of Knights in the selection process at the Bombers, but when asked to evaluate the Essendon players, Knights believed strongly in the current crop of players whereas Hardwick voiced his opinion that they were not up to it and a clean out and rebuilding process would need to be put in place. The selection panel didn't like the idea of further "rebuilding" after 4 years out of the finals and put their faith in Knights.
Malthouse brings experience and reputation, but if you want that why not go and get Tom Hafey!! Malhouse would be a step backwards. He has overseen failure at Collingwood over the past 10 years. They need a young, driven, excited turk who can start from scratch.
Hardwick will be a first grade coach - just a matter of time.
