SPL up 34% today, I expect as a result of the following announcement.

AS a shareholder I should feel really grateful, but I am still well under water.

@mick Back some years ago on the old forum a good on-line friend to many "Mahail' or as I dubbed him, Lord Mahail" was a constant advocate of this crowd, evening getting some of the stuff sent over from the UK during the Covid epidemic.
Several of us were believers at that time, but as time wore so did my belief and a sale was garnished at a considerable loss.
No longer a holder or even have it on the Watch List

Biotech firms are like tech startups - they are a gamble.
I lost on this one.
Fortunately, had only a small amount gambled, so the losses won't kill me.

If there is any consolation to you...me too loss heaps n 2 grandkids still have them in the portfolio. I didn't want to cull them. It's to show sheet do hit. Not everyone is a winner
Evening Rabbito I often wonder if Mahail is still on board and if so is he still a holder of those many thousands of SPL

Good morning farmerge,
Hoping find you well. Reckon Mahail, would have worked it out and offloaded some time ago at a measured loss. Fixation on a company does happen, we are all guilty of that one, and move on we do... over a rum ha ha ha ha

Kind regards

A yearly pick,
Starpharma is 17c and has fallen a lot! Use to own and did OK at the time.
The previous CEO was too much of a wimp and signed dud deals. I am hoping the new CEO will turn this around.

There is a lot of potential upsides if he can get into positive EPS territory but it is a bit of an ask.

I still don't own which probably says a bit of my lack of confidence but if this does turn around then it could triple, winning me the comp, so going for it. Definitely my riskiest pick, could easily end up halving.

@Knobby22 Back in the commsec days me with several others were firm believers in this mob. One in particular was my old mate Mahail, who posted reams on them but as you have suggested the CEO at the time was a dud, a piece of drift wood. I would hope that a resurgence in its SP does happen, but not to forsake me with my pick.
Haven't held for quite some time.

Still drifting along. Knows how to stay alive and seems to always be getting money from deals and government but is yet to show its ability to make a profit.
Hoping as a yearly pick something good will happen. There are a couple of good things that could happen this year. Don't own.

Did hold once but grew extremely tired of seeing virtually nothing happening
Old mate Mahail was a true believer in this crowd back in the day.

Bad news on the VivaGEL VB in the USA mid February. The FDA have knocked back the appeal as they want more studies despite the use of this product in most countries and multiple previous studies.

Bit ridiculous in my view but that's how the USA works.
They shouldn't have appealed it just feeds the lawyer culture and costs money.
The price has dropped further and my yearly tip is looking worse.

Still waiting for the half yearly report.

Report out.
Loss reduced by 88%.
Revenue increased by 400%.
Cash grown from 32mil to 44mil.

As normal with this company, some of the cash is one off.
$6.5 mil was from Mundipharma getting out of their Vivagel deal.

The new CEO appears to be more focused. They aren't going to do the additional studies so they can sell Vivagel in the USA.
If you are a USA female with a problem you will have to use the black market. Available everywhere else in the world so it shouldn't be too hard.
Still don't own.
