I'm usually a lurker but this has made me want to post.
Even though Tinkler's deal wasn't for $100mill outright, rather underwriting $10mill/year sponsorship, how can a club who has only ever broke even or made a loss afford to knock back a deal like this? My thoughts are that Tew and Burraston knew that they had no place on a future board and couldn't put the team/region before themselves. I think it's safe to assume that a number of major sponsors will walk away from the club in the coming weeks. Tinkler obviously has the region's best interests at heart, as opposed to others such as Constantine who used the Newcastle Jet's as perosnal hobby/business.
Obviously Burraston and Tew have not heard of the saying "beggars cant be choosers"
