Solid Balance Sheet shares to be had in these times?

Hey Guys, just wondering if anyone wants to bring some of the most solid companies to the table. I have lost quite a bit myself but do believe the stock market is now a place to grab some solid valued shares.

I think WBC Westpac will be my number recommendation at the moment, and AMC although they are blue-chip I will be parking some savings in them soon.

I was just wondering if anyone had some rather solid mid-caps or even small-caps that have some solid balance sheets and are a lot less riskier than some of the heavily leveraged companies that we are seeing going bust. CSR does also look very good to me at the moment.

Any thoughts guys?

How about you detail them for us? :)

If people are going to nominate stocks they believe have 'solid' balance sheets it would be nice if those nominating them gave readers of this thread a brief, up to date rundown on the balance sheet of the company they are nominating.

More information is always helpful.

Edit: Thanks So_Cynical!

:D evening joe ...... yeah m8 i would but im a hopeless typer and merely a guiding light for those to do there own research and not to believe biased holders like myself

Thanks for that tip, that looks like a very worth investment :D. Sorry I don't know where to grab the figures for Westpac and AMC but I did an assignment on them in uni and they had good stable balance sheets.

It is also funny too, recently society has placed a considerable value on convienence and companies have certainly cashed in on this - in my opinion I think Westpac places a high emphasis on Trust, which IHMO will be the next rage in place of convienence, just my two-bob though :p.
