"Slummy mummys" vs. "Yummy mummys"

Re: "slummy mummys" vs "yummy mummys"

The best quote from the article was this

"And Leonie Trimper, of the Australian Primary Principals Association, said a principal told her dads were now rocking up at the school gates to cast an eye over the glamorous mums. "But at least dads are getting involved," she said."

Getting involved by leering at the yummymummy's LOL

I drop my daughter at pre-school every day and have to confess to being a slummy daddy. Trackies and a sweatshirt/fleece is the go, although just switched to shorts, t-shirt and thongs now that summer has arrived. And no leering at the Mums either. The 19 year old Swedish Au-Pair Nanny, no leering, but I do smile every day

Re: "slummy mummys" vs "yummy mummys"

gooner, my mate did get friendly with one yummy a while back while dropping his niece at school. Things were going well, thought he was making a bit of head way. But the real reason for her interest became apparent when she invited him to be a participant in the "Stranger Danger" talks at school....as an example.

Mothers at prestigious Brisbane private school St Margaret's Anglican Girls School in Ascot said competition to look good at the school gate was apparent.

That school is only a 10 min drive from where I'm currently staying... :

The yummy mummy routine works best when the kidlets are in kindy. Once they hit primary school and beyond, the yummy bit drops off a bit. I never considered myself a yummy mummy at all because I dont like wearing make-up etc; but I NEVER go outside the house in trackie dackies. Unless I am going for just a walk.

I would usually wear jeans a nice top, sunglasses if it was sunny, and ok shoes. Actually, I think the article is rather inept to be honest; if you dont wear trackies you are automatically classified as showing off and trying to be a yummy mummy? Weird.

What does racial origin (colour of skin) have anything to do with this. Many of the 'non white' complexioned ladies (whose origins many be Indian, Filipino, Eurasian, etc) often looked the best dressed and were more conscious of their appearance (as part of their cultural pride) than anyone else? Weird.

i enjoy picking my baby sister(started school after i finished).milfs ftw ...its not just the dads who are getting involved

If these women really are devoting time and effort to out-dressing one another, I have good news for them- you've got spare time on your hands! Go and do something useful with it.

I see many have succumb to the sensationalistic mainstream media.
