Dear All,

I have a question that I always wanted to ask, but afraid to ask until now, and would appreciate very much if I can get some feedback. Suppose that you are very successful and made a lot of money trading shares etc, where does the money come from? Is investing/trading in share markets a zero sums game?

Is investing/trading in share markets a zero sums game?

The "sum" of the game follows the slope of the market index. If that was dead flat it would be zero sum (ignoring brokerage), but the sum is positive while the index is rising and negative while it's falling.

Not to forget the Dividends which come directly from the business of the company.
