Safe to buy shares in zinc companies?

Hi all,

Is it still safe to buy shares in Zinc companies. Im looking at a way to invest 6K for the next year or so (saving for a house deposit) and maximise return.. 1 year is all I want...

Looking for 2 X companies, each with 3K...

Any suggestions in areas that will improve significantly over the next year?

Nothing is safe on the stock market but if you look at zinc you can look at zfx, kzl, tzn they have all gone up all recently but are forecast to keep going

Thought about Nickel even? Zinc seems to be a little volatile, but Nickel looks rather solid.
