The only thing on offer is "buy them, they're so cheap", but I guess Joe will give me a ramping ticket if I don't back up my analysis...

Sorry dude, it's a taste thing I have, something to do with quality. Having seen manufactured product so many times over the years, it has become very tiresome and predictable. Possibly one day after all the energy expended in turning them into pop stars, they might even clone and cultivate some originality and artistic endeavour themselves. (IE Short skirts do not equal great music for me...)

Amazing isn't it that what could be done in a studio years ago is so easy to do live now.

Furthermore, this 'band' just goes to show how true the saying is "It's not what you do, it's how you look when you are doing it."

Maybe if you want to become a former pop star like Messers Holden and Hine, trying to vicariously resurrect a career in celebrity by appearing on a show about what they were an "expert" on a number of years ago, when Australia had a population of 14 million, and we were still removing the last vestiges of a class ruled system while trying to create a home grown music industry...

In other words, thank goodness they're not playing near my house because I can turn them off.

Awe , here I was thinking the NAB had been caught out again , only to find it's about a poncy band . Good one you got me .

If they didn't have a nice bit up front they'd be playing out the front of Myers , which is where half these acts belong .

I prefer bands with lots of instruments , you know , brass , string and percussion etc. , that's when the walls shake and the floor trembles .

The last big concert I went to was in Blackpool in Wales , it was the Spencer Davis Group , I was stunned that night and thoroughly entertained as well .

It was well worth the journey into the West country , which was a pain at the time , as I was dodging vans and campers all the way there and all the way back .

I have to say that as a recorded item Rogue Traders are ok by me. Live they are sadly lacking. Yes they require electronic enhancement to be a cut above a pub band, but I like them. Live is another story.

My favourite live band at the moment are Foo Fighters however all time great would be Joe Cocker. Yes I am a baby boomer.

I decided not to judge any pop singer too harshly some years ago when someone got me to listen to a recording of what was clearly a very capable female singer doing everything from slow contemporary through to full on heavy metal.

It wasn't until I'd heard it that they told me who it was. None other than 1980's topless model and pop singer Sam Fox.

Turns out that Sam's actually quite capable musically. But, as explained by herself in an inverview from 1986 when Touch Me hit Number 1, pop music is commercial. It sells and it makes money.

And that's the point here. It's about money. Doing whatever the public buys whether it requires talent or not. It's not my musical preference but I can't blame anyone for making some $ in a fickle industry where real ability doesn't generally equal success.
