I think you should take the approach of "what are the questions I will be asking the data"

A good look at that will tell you a heap about what tools you will need.

Im stuck at the first hurdle, which language to learn. I want to learn Python but not sure if that is because it is new, fancy and sounds cool or its a good idea haha. Python seems like the way of the future but I am not sure I even need it or will be able to use it.

Also, if do learn to code effectively then Python may lead to opportunities outside of training which AB will not.

Ill commit one way or another over the next week, but look forward to see how you tackle the question

I have been thinking about it for a few days.

I dont have anything super complex or original I want to look at.

Some stuff with RVOL, volatility, gaps to try and identify if I should be looking at fading or looking for break outs. Having a look at div momo strategy on the asx.

I have spent a few hours today looking at what others have done with AB and it will probably do the job well. BUT I am hoping once I start getting involved my ideas evolve to looking at the less obvious.
