President Trump 2020-2024: Economic Implications

So the Democrats dream of the China model and will have a war with Russia if elected? Amazing.
Short memory you have Knobby22, I was heading for St Petersburg just as the last election was looming last time.
Clinton (the she one) was more than aggressive and i was actually concerned not being able to either enter or get out of Russia with that timing..but hey, nothing a good TDS can not forget quickly

Upcoming US election is creating much uncertainty. One of the biggest issues is not necessarily who wins but how the processes of government and overall economic stability play out.

What are peoples thoughts ? From this analysis one could expect major stock selloffs prior to the election simply from a cautionary approach. :cautious:

Investors should prepare for worst over US presidential election

If result is contested it could drag on for weeks and trigger a major risk-off episode in markets

Opinion polls in the US have long pointed to the strong possibility of a Democratic party sweep in the election on 3 November, with Joe Biden winning the presidency and Democrats gaining control of the US Senate and holding on to the House of Representatives, putting an end to divided government.

But if the election turns out to be mostly a referendum on Donald Trump, Democrats might win just the White House while failing to retake the Senate. And one cannot rule out the possibility of Donald Trump navigating a narrow path to an electoral college victory, and of Republicans holding on to the Senate, thus reproducing the status quo.

More ominous is the prospect of a long-contested result, with both sides refusing to concede as they wage ugly legal and political battles in the courts, through the media, and on the streets. In the contested 2000 election, it took until 12 December for the matter to be decided: the supreme court ruled in favour of George W Bush, and his Democratic opponent, Al Gore, gracefully conceded. Rattled by the political uncertainty, the stock market during this period fell by more than 7%. This time, the uncertainty could last for much longer – perhaps even months – implying serious risks for the markets.

I never thought I would say it, but I miss the Orange Loon in the White House.

Compared to what Trump might have done, Biden is a complete failure and worse than the worst imaginable from The Loon.

Biden is, if not stupid, bordering on it, and being advised by what passes for left wing Ivy League Democrat apparatchiks, with no common sense nor life experience.

Worse still is that there is absolutely no depth on the democratic side. Kamala is political cyanide and there is literally nobody else who looks even remotely presidential, nevermind reasonably able to reassert American hegemony.

Apart from the god emperor, there are some other reasonable contenders on the republican side, DeSantis, Cruz, Paul.

I am personally a fan of DeSantis... As much as I love the God Emperor, he could be a little too triggering for the diminishing minority who still support the Democratic Party after this disastrous klusterfark over the last year.

In fact he has made me in favour of cloneing technology, as it would be possible to create an Australian clone which may just save us from the Orwellian dystopian nightmare we are embarking on.

The January 6 hearings are sure not looking good for the bloke that still calls himself the 45th president. I'd say it's short odds that this bloke will never be allowed to run for public office again.

He'd be 82 if he ran again. It's too old.

a Mid term election cycle later.... and with apologies to Chris Farlowe

It is the lot of those with opinions to be quoted after their opinions have changed even when their premise is correct.

My fallacious manservant Švejk calls it post propter hoc.

This in itself may be a fallacy.

I still reckon Joe Biden is a disaster and have now approached the Charitable and Political Kickbacks Committee at the hotel to fully back DeSantis in the Presidential Election two years hence.

am not sure anyone with an honest opinion of themselves will want the job ( POTUS )

maybe they should just demolish the Southern border and invite Mexico City to become the new cartel ( OOPS i mean government )
