Probably depend on your internet speed I never taken much notice as to how long, usually I just hit update and walk away probably around 5 -10 minutes each day on 256k.

It depends on how many sessions you have to catch up on. 1 days worth of data usually takes about 10 minutes, but i have had a week's worth take 30 minutes before.

I now have my home PC setup to do this automatically every night at 8:30pm, usually just after i start it up, very handy.

Cheers,

Thanks guys, Does it chew through many MB's?

If you mean is it RAM hungry then i would say relatively, no. But with 20 years of history and climbing it gets greedy for hard drive space, I'm in a position where a HD upgrade is around the corner.

Sorry just realized how little detail I left in that sentence. I meant does it chew through your monthly download MB, when downloading daily from the net.

Sorry Mox, i have no limit on downloads, only a flat rate of 100 RMB per month.

Just wondering if anyone has this code wrong in their database. It is AHY Asaleo Healthcare, an ASX 200 company. I have AHY now Australian Hydrocarbons Ltd.

p.s. I downloaded the delisted securities unnassigned list and I think it changed every present same code. Warning that this may happen to you.

Thanks JJZ.

We do not officially support the ASX delisted securities within AmiBroker due to code overlap issues (whereby new stocks having the same symbol as delisted stocks cannot co-exist in the same database).

Uhh. :banghead: Read everything first.

In live trading do you use the Premium Data Current or Historical watchlist?

I use the ASX Historical during a backtest but Current during live trading.

The reason for asking is a stock only has to be in say the ASX200 for a month during the backtest period and slip back to the ASX300 never to return to the ASX200.

For example: in a backtest stock XYZ moved into the ASX200 ONLY during 2005, and backtesting using the Historical database (S&P ASX 200 Current & Past) keeps buying it up until today.

Considering the reason for trading a system is based on these backtest results I'm thinking I should use the Historical watchlist in live trading too. Means I would be trading stocks outside of the ASX200.

Any thoughts?

Are you a PDU Beta tester? If yes, have you read this? Go to the "Making use of historical index constituents" section and make sure you have your Amibroker code right.

Yes Amibroker and a PDU Beta tester. Didn't know the NorgateIndexConstituentTimeSeries function.
Much appreciated thanks!

Great software and just a heads up....

Beta Testing is over.

Cost of same data will be 60% more following their 12 month discount for Beta Testers.

Beta Testers now: ASX A$396.00 a year
Platinum subscription: ASX A$630 a year

The Platinum subscription is the only one with access to delisted securities and historical index constituents.

That's a significant increase for Beta Testers but try running a backtest with and without delisted and historical index constituents. That shows exactly why I would not use anything else.
ie: better results witout delisted :)

I think you will find the Platinum subscription is plus GST so closer to $700.

If you wish to continue backtesting post 1 July 2018, then yes this would be best option.

If you have done your backtesting and just run your scans in real time maybe only require the Silver package at $297.

Thanks Willy, yeah I looked up what I paid last time but didn't add GST to the latest Platinum.

Agree, will drop to cheap plan.

Be good if the plans were flexible where you could sit on the Silver and upgrade to the Platinum to do some backtesting for a month occasionally. Currently it's 6 months minimum.

Hey Sir Burr and Willy1111, I've been (and still am) a PDU and NDU tester. They have just released the soft launch of there new NDU program. Before buying subscriptions make sure you can transfer your existing membership. Just FYI.
