I'm sure there are others out there like me who would like to know what is the purpose and why do traders & investors window dress the pre-open market? (By window dressing I mean pre-open bids and offers that are way north or south of the last SP)

Cheers

Sometimes just to guarentee the order goes through.

I'm sure there are other reasons as well.

Maybe to entice others to follow their lead? Investors/traders may believe they have knowledge of news about the share price and therefore follow their lead.

Yeah we know they are trying to entice investors to either buy or sell...the novices especially. I think 90% of the time it has nothing to do with market information, but I could be wrong. This happens every morning at pre-open on most shares. These prices must be the maximum buy and minimum sell prices...is that right? (because the 'window' upper & lower bids and offers are never executed at the inflated/deflated price) :cautious:
