That pommie who won the job as caretaker on a Whitsunday island and is being paid $150,000 for 6 months work , is, is, .... is whingeing.

He is whingeing about the weather and missing summer in England..

No wonder the UK is in such a dreadful state.

We really need to cut down on these pommie migrants. All the money that Queensland Tourism spent on this foreigner will now be wasted.

And they can't play cricket.

Jeez, taking a while for someone to bite GG!

Take it easy though my mum & dad are poms. He's been here since 1956 and still barracks for the Poms in the cricket:confused:

I can remember them whinging a lot when I lived at home though

Mum used to be a Sunday school teacher. Now that would surprise a few, especially MS+T.

Anyway, off topic, I've had enough of that thread.

Looks like the whinging genes have been passed on:D

Some of my best friends are poms and a few poms and a pikey got me out of a tight spot in Almaty recently.

They are human beings after all and deserve more respect than many give them on this forum.

Poms are at their happiest when they're whinging. The weather, public transport, the Labour government...

Earlier this year, extreme bad weather caused the public transport system to grind to a halt because the labour government wasn't prepared for such an extreme event. It was like christmas all over again for the poms here - so much to whinge about! :D

Are Australians whingers too?

As much we have a 'she'll be right mate' attitude sometimes, we do like to have a complain.

For example, 'Poms even whinge in paradise!' Bloody whingers!!!

Poms and Aussies whinge about the most trivial things. Howver'the big difference is that Poms have a lot to whinge about, but Aussies believe that they only whinge about major things, which really are oh so trivial eg whinging about whinging poms.

Yep, aussies are whingers too.. we inherited it from the poms :p: .. and I'm going to whinge about it.

What a waste of money

How did he get a job in TOURISM of Australia

Whinge whinge whinge...

It is surprising how Aussies never whinge when abroad. Despite having left paradise. :)

In London, Aussies are always whinging - about the cold, the cost of housing, the cost of beer, the fact that English women are too "stuck up" to date an Aussie etc etc:)

The article was obviously spun to make it look that way. read the quotes -

- "...despite the weather."
- "I'll miss the long days we have. The island may boast a tropical climate but it gets dark at 8pm,"

He's not winging... he's just missing home, theres nothing wrong with expressing that, its not like he's actually complaining about being on a tropical island being paid 150k for 6 months work.

Probably caused by affluence.

More you have, you want to have more and whinger is born.

Next time Queensland might give job to Aussie thou.

Well isnt that was he is suppose to be doing -- selling tourism abroad..

Its not happening....lol

It's a spin by the Sun, no more no less.

I'm a pom and I live here in Paradise (ok, well it's pretty damn good) too. I have to pinch myself every day, knowing that I have it very very good.

We ockers whinge every time someone has the cheek to criticise us, when we know we are perfect.

It's amusing that the POME's (Prisoner of Mother England) sent the convicts to Australia and law abiders stayed in England.....LMFHO

When I came out to Australia in 1983 I had a holiday on the way and spent a week each in LA, Hawaii and Fiji. Having heard it said that the British always talk about the weather, I made a point of not doing so whenever I struck up a conversation with a fellow traveler. I met Americans (obviously!), Canadians, Aussies, New Zealanders, Norwegians, Germans, Dutch, French, etc. Without exception they talked about the weather, and in many cases it was the first thing they talked about.

i dont think anyone here got it kennas!

humans love to have a moan about someone else, and in any given paddock of sheep, be they poms aussies or yanky sheep, the flocks will have a red hot go at anyone else not part of that flock..
