If we listened to Bas, we would all be sitting in the dark by now, because the coal would have been shut down three years ago when the last Government was the only reason it was running.
What concerns me is the pace of the transition.Really SP ? I would have hoped for better from you.
I have always driven the need to move as quickly as possible to a renewable energy society. But having said that I have also been very vocal about making sure this happens on the ground and works. I have deep respect and fair bit of understanding about the technical, financial and administrative challenges our society faces getting from coal to renewable. And I agree that allowing the energy system to collapse is a disastrous scenario which must be avoided. So there is ton of work to be done making sure this changeover works.
