Gday

Just wanted some views on what is the future for companies such as Tabcorp and Tatts.

They both lost over 20% on friday. Just wondering how business for them is going to look in 5 years time.

As far as I know Tabcorp is the major place where punters place bets on the horses and the footy, and sporting events in Victoria.

Is this going to change?

Will the company need to move into other areas? A 20 % price drop seems justified, but the stock is now on an 8% yield for the next 4 years.

So investors are basically looking at a 32% return on their cash in that time.

I am not sure what to make of these dilemma, but I do know a lot of income investors put money into TABcorp because of their big cash flows they have and return on dividends....

TTS and TAH will set up partnerships with the big hotel chains (ALH etc) and manage the pokies for them. What role woolies and Wesfarmers (Coles) play is the question.

Imagine the Woolies crew getting into Pokies. $5 pokie credit for every $100 over the check out.

This is a very high stakes game over the next couple of years and there will likely be some unusual and unexpected partnerships formed to capture the mountains of cash to be made. I only hope that those responsible for deciding the eventual outcomes have what it takes to make choices that are more likely benefit the general community than rapacious casino style operators.
What I don't understand is how Crown Casino is always exempt from any changes, smoking in high roller rooms, maximum bets, etc. etc. is it some kind of separate State or Territory ??

In any event, as always, a few will probably make a lot, but Victorians and shareholders in TAH & TTS will not be high on the list of beneficiaries.
