Probably waiting for the review board to allow a Chinese company to mop them up, it is a much shorter shipping distance from the Pilbara. One of my picks for the CY 24 stock tipping comp, and my worst performer being down 45% for the year, my worst performer. Still a solid company and maybe a buying opportunity at these prices. Need the lithium price to lift a bit to get things moving.
Iggy
Bottom is surely in, right?
Do not disagree. Orrrrr maybe it isYour problem. Right there...
This whole battery story has caught a lot out, the politicians ramped it up, the super funds bought in, so how could we go wrong?Overdue update on PLS, and a standard fiftyeight brain dump.
Went full degen and bought PLS back in October 2020 for $0.36, maxing out my ING Super at 20%. May have also done the same with my wife’s super as well
After buying PLS, I switched focus to crypto, had a second child, got a promotion, and my wife’s ecom biz was growing. I stopped paying attention to PLS and Li in general. Max cope for bad decisions, but bags going up, so must be all good, right?
Now that I am down bad from ATH, it seems like a good time to think out loud again.

- RIO investing in brine and DLE vs hard rock is not ideal
- Pausing the pilot plant with CXL, this was supposed to be game changing tech. Is cash burn really that bad PLS need to pause a pilot plant? Wishful thinking, it might just be angling for some cheap gov money?
- Directors are buying, good news? Or does it mean no big announcements are coming? Maybe they just think the bottom is in.
- Possible JV with Ganfeng, making deals with the big players.
- POSCO deal, diversification away from China and moving up the supply chain seems like a good idea.
- Latin Resources, analysts hate it, no synergies. Do ‘synergies’ ever turn into $$$ as expected? PLS knows how to build and operate a mine and has a good record of counter cyclical buys. I’ll trust management on this one.
- Cutting production, no matter how management spins it, a quick change in demand is not what they are anticipating.
- EV adoption, growing about where I expected, but the market hype was overhyped. Govs setting 100% EV adoption by some random date was never going to happen, but the shift is happening. See my thoughts for details.
Electric cars?
Wheels Car of the year. More power than an McLaren F1 for $110K. You can turn off the front wheel power and slide it on the rear wheels (drift mode). Probably too much of a motorhead car for me, yet its an EV. https://www.whichcar.com.au/events/coty/wheels-coty-2024-25-winner-hyundai-ioniq-5-nwww.aussiestockforums.com
- Battery tech, sodium-ion, solid-state, new anodes/cathodes every week, who knows? But it seems very unlikely to change much in the near term.
- PLS most shorted stock on the ASX, shorts finally starting to close, aaaaaaaaand we got no bounce haha.
Shortman on PLS
Not sure what I am doing with PLS long term yet (If it goes up hold, if it goes down panic sell most likely). PLS is still a inappropriate % of our net worth, just not as ridiculous as it was at ATH and I had not cashed out some crypto gains.
If I was flat PLS and had some free $$$, I’d probably be buying some PLS. Bottom is surely in, right? My PnL isn’t driving my decision, or at least I don’t think it is, but I am hold for now.
I should have taken some $$$ off the table at the top, or on the runup, or the second runup, or the second top, or the way down. But focusing on the massive swings in my PnL from degen trading crypto, I didn’t really appreciate the absolute size of the gains. The daily vol in PLS just didn’t register haha.
“a fool and his money are easily parted”

Easy, as you said a fool and his money are easily parted, yet again.
People wonder why index etf's are getting more money poured into them, well it is much harder to manipulate or short the whole market lol.
I'm not a chartist and I did get caught up in the hype, down a bit on PLS but fortunately got into IGO before they got caught up in the Chinese Greenbushes deal, that should have sent off warning flags. LolNah dont think I got caught out, more caught not paying attention.
Chart crime below, I dont have data for the XJOA and QQQ seems off BUT it conveniently makes me look good.

I never knew that it was a dividend payer.PLS pays a decent dividend and is worth holding just for that.
I never knew that it was a dividend payer.
Dividend payers are catching my attention lately.
Must be getting old.
PLS has payed divs in the past, perhaps I got a little bit ahead of myself and have edited a touch.I never knew that it was a dividend payer.

PLS No 4 pick in the yearly Competition.
An old favourite that I have toyed with many times and thought that it would be a good fit for the Comp.
The SP also has improved since the start of the Month.
PLS has payed divs in the past and one would hopethat might return.
The upside is the SP, though somewhat volatile there is the opportunity to make a good profit as it climbs upwards.
Have we got some copypasta going on here haha?I never knew that it was a dividend payer.

@farmerge Yes do remember your joy milking PLS ... making some good coin. rcw1 too has had a chop at it from time to time, been a while though since rcw1 has traded this little baby. However, will have gander from time to time at it again bloke...PLS No 4 pick in the yearly Competition.
