Hi guys, I recently bought some shares through commsec and was wondering how you pay for the damn things? I've got one those commsec cash accounts and have got the money in the investment account which is tied to it, is that the right place?

I use E-trade but imagine the process will be similar.

E-trade take the funds out of the cash account. Why don't you phone them and ask?

Man, give commsec a call and they will tell you right away. You should have done that before even placing any trading. The money to pay shares is taken out from the CCA.

U need to move it to the cash account...assuming that's the account u have as your nominated trade/settling account.

There's a place in your profile i think, where u can look and see what u nominated as the trade settling account.

By default it is the CCA account - Commsec Cash Account.

The CIA account is the interest bearing account.

SC is right. Transfer from your investment account to your cash account within the 3 days. I do it the day before T3 and it is instantaneous.

You can check "Financials" too. in the trading tab.

it will show you exactly how much is owing, easy to keep track of multiple buy and sell trades.

Are you talking about "trading", "Orders", "Order status", "executed orders" in Commsec or is there another area that provides a summary of transactions waiting settlement?
