Oz Gitmo refusal? Think again!

Return these Urghars to China so they can face real justice, gitmo was a holiday camp - the extreme left wingers will regret its closure ....

I general I agree that we should be not be accepting Gitmo detainees to save them from the short and swift justice they would probably get in their homeland. I would make an exception in the case of the Uyghurs.

Although they may have trained in Afghanistan, they would never have been a threat to the West. Their fight is with China. They are in a similar situation to the Tibetans. Their country is the subject of brutal agression.

By all accounts they would be readily assimilated and make good immigrants,. Some have relatives in Australia

They are Moslem but would make much better immigrants than the Moslem boat people who get every assistance.

The snag, of course is that it would annoy China

I dont see why they dont move them to an American prison... and have those prisoners actually been trialed and found guilty or are they still trying to torture confessions out of them?

I dont see why they dont move them to an American prison...

Obama made an election promise to closed Guantanamo Prison, but no one really asked what or where the Obama team was going to place the prisoners.

They have been cleared of any links to terrorism

I stand by my post # 21.

Off topic but I understand the Turnbulls are worth financially upward from $180 million. Makes me wonder why he stays in the charade.

Belief he can genuinely benefit the country?

Isn't it a good thing that he's not motivated by the money?
