Overseas Credit Card Purchases

Does anyone know what's the best type of credit/debit card to use for overseas purchases (online shopping)? my visa charges 3% conversion fee and I thought maybe there's a better rate out there somewhere?
Also is it possible to load up a card (prepay) with GB pounds at times when the AUS dollar is high?:)

Checkout HSBC, My account allows me to hold upto 10 differnet currancies, and all i do is just move the money from one to another same as a normal transfer. the only problem is the dedit card is attached to the base currency, my case HKD (have been told they are changing this to allow you to select currancy base but when I don't know)

for internet purchases I have been using a visa dedit seems to be ok.

Pretty sure HSBC is one of the best as far as overseas transactions go, from memory the cheapest for overseas ATM withdrawals as well...problem is getting them to give you an account, ive tried to open an account with them a couple of times and for whatever reason there simply not interested in doing business with me.

Industry standard for the cash conversion fee seems to be 2%
