I am currently trialling the net via mobile from Optus, it is called the Inzone Modem.

The problem that I have is that it won't open the charts that are attached to some posts here on ASF.

If I log on via either of my two previous ISPs then the charts open with the text, if I am logged on via Optusnet then I only get the text and a box saying attached files but cannot open this box.

If I go to other websites the charts open using Optus, it just seems to be ASF and Optus.

I have asked Joe and he can't find any problem so I thought I would ask the other Optusnet users do you have this problem with ASF.

thanks

OK; is it on your cell phone, or laptop / PC? You mention switching ISPs, but how can you do this on a cell?

Hi Nyden,

I am using my PC, the "In Zone modem" from Optusnet uses the mobile network in much the same way as ADSL uses the wire network.

It connects me to the mobile tower and then into the normal phone network at ADSL speeds.

My other ISPs are dial up, I can't get ADSL where I live.

I have contacted Optus twice, the first guy simply didn't know and I have sent another email 3 days ago hoping to get a different tech guy to answer who might actually know about their new "in zone Modem".

What I am really asking ASF people is if you are using Optusnet as an ISP do the charts open when you click on a post ?

thanks

Yes, they do for me.

But, charts have nothing to do with internet connection; they're merely files. This definitely sounds like a computer-side problem, have you tried an alternative browser? Just for trouble-shooting purposes, that is.

Please give Firefox, Internet Explorer, & Opera a shot; each are free & excellent.

Oh, & when you say 'open', do you mean they won't display on the thread ... or something else?

I have been an optusnet user for some time with no issues like the ones you outline.
On the occasions I have required tech support it has taken me several call back attempts to get the right assistance.
The variation in their operators expertise is considerable so if you don't get satisfaction keep trying until you get the right operator.

I have tried Firefox and Internet Explorer, both exactly the same.

It is weird, both work on other sites OK, it just seems to be the combination of Optusnet and ASF on my PC.

Other ISPs work fine using either browser on any site.

I guess I shall try and get a reply from Optus, see if they can help

Thanks for your help Nyden and Dalek
