Has anyone used opera web browser?

I would like to know if there are any deficiencies or bugs etc.

I installed it and it seems to load ASF a lot faster than the standard internet explorer.

Re: Opera

Fooey!! I thought this was going to be about singing.

I used Opera for a few years and liked it. Can't remember what version I got up to, but I switched to Firefox mebbe 3 years ago and see no reason to change. It used to be that a lot of sites used IE-specific code or features, and you might still find some that display differently or even don't work at all outside IE. Personally I just don't go back to those sites.

Does Opera still charge for a licence? The Firefox price is hard to beat.

Cheers

Been told that Firefox avoids the majority of viruses (where Microsft Explorer is very vulnerable) and friends have given rave reviews -
just been too slack so far to try it

It is free and yes it blocks some websites that may be virus breeding etc. It is faster than IE and the problems with IE are not found wit Opera. I am running both to test the difference. ASF looks a little different but just a little.

And I don't like opera singing:D
Sorry Joe.

Good thing about Opera is it has built-in mail which is really nice. Plus Opera has loads of options for setting up.

Good thing about Firefox is it has in-line spelling, means as you type it highlights errors. Firefox has loads of add-ins to bring it up to what Opera can do.

It's a toss up for me but Opera with built-in mail gets me! It's free now too.

So (Sir Burr or Snake)... If I try Firefox or Opera, do the kids lose their hotmail email accounts etc - those domains where they are free to discuss whatever they like, uncensored, and from which I am locked out - password protected lol.

Short answer: nope. Those are sites on the Web. A browser's job is to display them. The arguments are over which ones display them "best" - or maybe over what "best" means.

Hey Snake, just out of curiosity, how much opera singing have you tried to listen to and was it live, recorded, or on the telly?

Cheers

Ghotib,

Not much to be honest. I guess I could get to like it if I gave it some time and saw some live. Care to do some for ASF and attach it?:)
