It seems one can now be arrested for dressing the same as someone else and getting on a train.

Did these people commit any acts of violence ?

Who did they "offend" and why?

As far as I could see they were quiet and exercising their rights of lawful assembly and weren't bothering anyone.

If they were indigenous protestors would they get the same treatment?

Did police overstep the mark?

I don't like anybody who needs to cover their faces, neo-Nazis or women wearing a burka.

When I read the articles I thought exactly the same, there is articles about the demonstrators abusing people , disfiguring public property causing a public nuisance and the police are standing by doing nothing.
Another small group is heading to show their feelings regarding the Australia day issue, but are wearing disguises because blind Freddy knows they will be vilified and they get intercepted and detained by the police.
It is becoming as bad as Russia, where any group that don't toe the narrative, face severe repercussions.
I can understand that the police could be nervous, but as the group was small I would have thought it was manageable, to arrest them and make them out as criminals without them doing a criminal action just perpetrates a police state.
My wife walks with facial coverings, to protect from the sun, as she has had to have extensive facial surgery due to skin cancer.
The abuse she cops, absolutely gives us the $hits, it's amazing how many people who profess to be understanding are so bigoted.

You are right Horace. It's a double standard when other groups are given a free rein (including masked groups such as antifa btw).

By all means take action if they do the wrong thing, but I fear suppression such this may lead to something bad.

Yea, you are a young Indian girl in a train carriage with 30 young blokes dressed in black with faces hidden and carrying white supremist banners.

And they are the good guys.
World has not gone that mad yet in Australia.

How about being a Jew on a train full of Hamas supporters? A conservative on train full of antifa? Thanks for illustrating the double standard.

Don't worry Knobby i've had really normal Aussie ockers with their kids, tell them to look at the monkey, when the daughter was in a full jobst pressure suit, I've also had them call her Freddy Krugers sister.
At least the muppets dressed in black carrying flags are admitting what a piece of $hit they are, it's the hypocritical pieces of $hit that hide behind a smug self professed caring persona, that get up my nose.
Like the elite pieces of human flotsam at the Australian Open last night, that booed Albo continuously when he was introduced, what because their tax cut wasn't big enough, really showing their class there in Melbourne.
Australia pure class, Not. That is the problem with Australia today, no respect, no pride and way too much self interest.:(
At the end of the day, Albo is the Prime Minister, he deserves the respect the office carries, disgraceful display IMO.

pretty sure there'd be an undercover officer or 3 in that group.
Doubt it. No money for it and a bit pointless. Half of them are probably cosplaying. They broke the law for using the public transport system and so were removed.

Wasn't it $5,000 a seat?

Interesting. Did they break any law? Maybe they had an Australian flag that got them in trouble.

Not sure as not NSW but probably travelling as a large masked group is illegal. Scares the other passengers. Maybe they had their feet on the seats also. 😄

If they had been good neo fascists, shown their faces, wrapped up the banners and generally behaved they would have been ok.

Yes from what I've witnessed, it seems that if you are from a certain background it is tolerated or a blind eye is used, if your from another background you are held to account, interesting times in the Western World at the moment.
The very people that established the Western World as we know it, are now being forced into silence for fear of retribution, it will be interesting to see what fills the void.
Hopefully it is better than the world we live in currently, because that is never a given.

Being masked just proves that they are gutless wonders, oxygen thieves

Or they don't want to be vilified and have their families threatened, but it looks like it will happen anyway.
We vil find dem and ve vil punish dem,
But they didn't do anything,
it dust not matter,.
Australia's going mad, I can't wait till the naming and shaming people, goes to court. :roflmao:

Police minister would welcome naming and shaming of neo-Nazis

Of the men who were issued fines on Australia Day, 16 were from Sydney, 11 from regional NSW and 24 came on a bus from Victoria.
