Good morning everyone, and welcome to the November 2013 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 10 posts to enter.

2. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

3. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between November 1 and November 30.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Thursday, October 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Those who qualify, please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason. Also, you must be qualified when you enter.

Each month we usually have some members who do not qualify for the competition but enter anyway. If someone who has selected a stock hasn't yet qualified for the competition, their stock is officially up for grabs! Just mention it when you post your entry.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

Just a reminder to those entering to please post a brief reason explaining why you chose that particular stock. One or two sentences is enough, although more is always welcome.

Many thanks!

FAR thanks Joe

FAR Limited is the largest holder of exploration licences of any ASX listed oil and gas entity in Africa and has first mover advantage.

Kenya
FAR holds two highly prospective licences with strong farm-out potential in the heart of the Lamu Basin. Kenya's exciting and fast emerging oil and gas margin is drawing the attention of major international players, with close to 100% exploration success in the region and neighbouring areas.

Senegal
With high impact billion barrel potential targets, operator status and a large equity position, FAR is highly leveraged for success in Senegal. Offering world class oil accumulations, deepwater exploration activity in the West African region continues to gain momentum.

Guinea Bissau
Containing an existing oil discovery in shallow water, FAR's offshore Guinea-Bissau blocks offer considerable potential. Exploration and appraisal drilling is likely in 2013, supported by encouraging 3D seismic acquired across the Sinapa discovery and numerous large prospects and leads

AVB Thanks

AVB have sorted out their financing and raising capital. For some reason the share price hasn't done much yet but it is just a matter of time

COF again Joe. Should benefit from global upturn. A thin lean machine now.

gg

SMA thanks Joe.
A new entry into the China market this year with gaming and bill payment via mobile. China is a big market, if this takes off then it might get interesting. This is in addition to its original smart transport logistics software which I think has been around a while. Also has some mining interests (?) - seems misaligned with their other businesses, but so be it. Keeping an eye on them (having bought a few!)

SYR - Syrah Resources Limited

Balama Graphite Project, Mozambique

The Balama graphite deposit comprises a ridge and three small hills containing graphitic schists. Field reconnaissance has found extensive outcropping areas of high grade of graphite. The mapped strike distance of the graphitic schists is over 8km.

Preliminary thin section analysis indicates that a substantial amount of the Balama graphite is coarse flake, which attracts a sales premium in the worldwide market.

Talon Petroleum(TPD) again thanks Joe.

The bonner 1h well should have the fraccing programme completed this month or early next month.

With producing(previously or now p and a) verticle wells sorrounding the 5000ft+ lateral, the well will almost definately flow hydrocarbons, although will the rate be commercially viable.

Nows the time to shine, all the best.

SAR please. Record production, positive announcements, low debt.... Worth a paper punt.

BCC

Several projects on the go, potential price increases could come from production, permit confirmations or speculation.

It currently looks oversold and the chart currently shows the reversal of a down trend as of late last week.

...once again I was beaten to TPD (Talon) - good luck!

BLT Benitec BioPharma, thanks Joe.

Tonight's close : $0.585. They hit a high of 0.75 a couple of weeks ago, then saw a big sell off to under 0.50.

It's a nervy stock in a complex and difficult to gauge research area. Don't ask me to explain it.

There's listed options at 0.10 strike, end December 2013. A bridge too far perhaps, but raises the possibility of announcements released in time to give the BLTOB options a fighting chance.

Sentiment could swing wildly up, down, both or neither, but if up, could be a long way up.

STE - Stratatel

Purely on the technicals - solid volume coming in and unlike many of the smaller plays lately, have not run too far.

I could not tell you what they do - they have an shockingly confusing investor presentation which says nothing clearly - but I found from their website that they use cloud computing to help manage telecommunication asset expenditure. Just what the doctor ordered.

GXY: Thanks Joe.

GXY: Pure spec buy. I had a few trades in this stock a while ago and it has remained in my watch list as I waited for Mgt to get its act together. Looks like they might have started as they've recently reported record production of high margin battery grade Li.

Disclosure: I bought some as a reversal trade with good RR. Heaps of resistance expected at 0.08, 0.10, 0.13.

More Disclosure: It might be one of Pav's sub 10c setups. I hope it triggers for him. ;)

TAH please.
I have no idea why, but this thing has been rising steadily over the last 2-3 weeks.

DYE for me, thanks Joe

They found support at the June 21 Low; Discussions with the Saudi investors are resuming this month, and I'm speculating on a positive announcement later this month.
