There are fines in place for making excessive noise, they came into force in May 2006 through the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). They vary between $100 and $300.
Night time noise remains at 45 decibels. Other noises from air conditioners is 52 decibels from a distance of 2 meters. Lawnmowers at 100 decibels at a distance of 1 meter. Vacuum cleaners 70 decibels at 3 meters.
