There has been much genuine horse**** and general diapproval of the Nobel committees choice of Barack Obama for the 2009 slot, on ASF,

ASF is a forum well known for its rabble of self opinionated no hopers, equally split 50/50 between the reasonable right wing and the basket weaving believers in socialism on the left who also want to win in the world of money and influence.

The argument has split evenly as to the merit of the hood from Chicago's win.

He has won, so get over you on the right and reasonable.

He has won you on the left, its a joke and you'll waste time defending it over the next 3 years while the good ole boys from Texas get another can duh date up.

Let us now look to the future.

May I ask asf'ers to post their choice for 2010. I served some time after a Munich beer festival in the 70's with a bloke on the committee and I could forward the name to him.

I'm nominating the 10 year old kid next door, because:

1/ He gave me the peace sign this evening (he had it the wrong way 'round, but heck, he's only young).

2/ He might become PM of UK and nuke The Congo, in order to bring democracy in 30 years time.

3/ He is from an acceptable ethnic minority.

Malcolm Turnbull would qualify for his antics in the 'utegate' debacle. His actions were equivalent to 'pissing into the wind'.

MARK Philippoussis - Has spread the love to many countries and at his own peril used his wealth to help stimulate the floundering economy! If you have a look at the winners for the last 20 years it appears it helps to be to be of non-European background, to have a funny name, achieved little in procuring piece by promoting appeasement and being easily forgotten. It also helps to be an idiot like Gore and Carter.

Not every celebrity has a Nobel Peace Prize fan club. But admirers of Oprah Winfrey, television talk show host extraordinaire, thought she needed one.

"She truly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize," reads the Oprah4PeacePrize Web site. "We intend to be celebrating an Oprah victory next December 2006 in Oslo, Norway."

How come nobody has nominated our favourite "son" from Canberra. You know who I mean, whats his name, the one who wants to lead the world!!!!!!!! It starts with Rrrrrrrrrrrrr.
