The historical data downloads - I'm pretty sure I need to stop / start / reset some CQG thing - based on ideas gleaned from my google searchs.

It's just another problem I need to chase , once I find the time.

My kit is pretty well spec'd, i7, 4Gb memory, 15 Mb/s ADSL, so I should be ok there.

Yeah, i have a little more RAM and run 64 bit windows and NT but you wouldn't think that would make that much difference i guess, Peter Davies from Jigsaw trading has a whole thread on his forum regarding NT performance tips, i think its free to join...http://www.jigsawtrading.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10

I hadn't heard of that in a trading context until recently, now , many roads lead to jigsaw blah.

I'll have to look into it.

Indicators aside, Peter has a very strong knowledge of NT, coming from the developer side. His tools can chew a couple of % CPU and some RAM so its in his interest to make sure everyone has NT tuned to run well. He's been very helpful.

OK so i am going to ask a very beginner question:

Short of funding an IB account, is there any way to get ongoing free live futures data for NinjaTrader for sim? Looking for NKD charts specifically
