I personally don't believe it should be there either.. Yes, the Bali Bombings was a tragic and terrible thing, however Kings Park is a place of remembrance for our Servicemen.. Lads and ladies who have donned the uniform and served, leaving our shores, knowing that they may never return.

A bunch of holiday makers heading off to get on the piss and laze on the beach is a significantly different prospect..
Buster - I understand that your take on it has been expressed in "letters to the editor" many times in Perth - as I say I don't agree - In any event - it's one brilliant memorial you'd agree.

One of the blokes at work was in Bali at the time. - fortunately stayed home that night.

And Bin Laden's justification / rather support for the Amrozis of the world - was..

that Aussies brought peace to East Timor ? - a serious weirdo that man.

I personally think there's an element of martyrdom - if they "took the hit" intended for all of us , yes?
No offence to anyone involved intended - must to difficult to relive it.

Wouldn't it be appropriate if the execution of these deluded murderous monsters fell on Australia Day.

so they got together, formed an opinion between themselves that they were the correct moral authority and needed to display this by killing those who they saw as threats to their culture and beliefs?

and then there is the terrorists.

G'day 2020,

Letters to the editor??? Not entirely sure, but sounds like a soft approach.. Sorry mate, I don't agree.. as much as you'd like me to..

Yeah, lucky.. Fortunately the souls of the serviceman that served and are remembered at Kings Park didn't decide to stay home, and thier sacrifice allows us to live the way we do today..

How you can draw this conclusion, as stated 'Holiday Makers' looking for pirated DVD's and the cheapest pint of piss, as opposed to troops fully expecting never to see thier loved ones or country ever again, and argue thier Martyrdom floors me..

I'm tipping if you'd ever worn a rig, and set forth for another country in defence of your own you'd have a slightly different view.. However, thats exactly why they (and we) deploy isn't it.. so we can express our opinion, no matter how foolish it appears to others..

As stated previously, not a personal attack on you, but this subject is something I feel quite strongly about, as you have probably determined.. :)

To me it just diminishes the sacrifice our troops have made..

OT - Do not tarnish ANY of our celebrated days with the necking of these cretins.. do it quietly with minimum fuss or ceremony..

Regards,

Buster

To me, Kings Park is a place for all West Australians. Whether its to honour our war dead, enjoy a picnic with family or a sunset stroll admiring the wildflowers. I don't think it diminshes anything - the Bali bombings were significant events that impacted the lives of nearly all West Aussies and shaped our history. Everyone knew someone injured, killed or just in Bali at the time.

I don't think the diggers would begruge sharing such a vast area as Kings Park with the families that lost loved ones in the Bali bombings.

no

people would associate Australia day with executions and wouldn't be a good thing

Now that the murderous bastards guilty of the Bali Bombing are being made ready for the bullet dipped in pork fat, let me again propose a National Holiday for Australia, on the chosen day.

If the Indonesians don't get their finger out soon, Amrozi and his fellow thugs might end up facing the firing squad on the first Tuesday in November.

Melbourne Cup Day.
