I believe that Australia ahould have more stringent checks on pommy migrants.

England seems to have gone to the dogs. Half the population are pissed 75% of the time, their pubs are open 24/7, racism is rife, and their politicians have taken graft and corruption to a new level.

If we are to behave fairly to our new migrants, e.g. by checking Afghans for links to Alqaida, then we should run further tests on countries at risk of exporting undesirable traits into this brown and pleasant land of ours.

Perhaps checking their alcohol levels at entry points, their behaviour at footy or cricket matches and their attitude towards tolerance to other races might be a starting point.

I saw that mate, earlier today on the Mail.

Its a very sick society, so we need to make sure that pommy migrants don't import that sort of foolishness in to Australia.

Thats why I feel we should do more checks on them.

I don't disagree... Poms are instantly entitled to the full benefits of our welfare, but go to pommy land, and try and get a working visa, or get on their benefits and it's not quite the same for the Aussies.

What about those New Zealenders ay? :cautious:

As far as I am aware, the only special entitlement that poms have compared to other residents is the ability to vote if they came here before 1970 (or thereabouts). If they arrive as residents, they have waiting periods for benefits like anyone else.

Disclosure: I have a UK passport as well as an Aussie one.

I must admit to having very little bad to say about Kiwis apart from their bastardisation of English pronounciation.

Some of my best friends are Kiwi !!

We need to look more closely at the Pom migration, we don't want the likes of Vicky Pollard and Daffyd clogging up our Centrelink offices and a nation which is accepting of gays, and increasing congestion on Oxford St.

With regard to what I have read in the newspapers over here, watched on the News and seen with my own eyes on the weekend whilst walking around my City, I would suggest that there probably isn't much difference as to the drinking behaviour of young English and young Australians......

I wouldn't agree mate.

Half the population over in England are pissed 75% of the time. Many live on social security in ghettoes where no generation has worked for three or more decades. There is no rule of law and all the pollies are ripping off their entitlements, and trying to justify it.

It's a very very sick society and I'd suggest we be very careful about taking migrants from there without good checks on how they would assimilate into our multicultural society.

I'd prefer American people to migrate to Australia. They know more about building businesses and are more positive. But I prefer British humor than American so I guess that balances things a bit. The current government hasn't really worked wonders for Britain has it?

Take care all, and I agree yanks make good migrants, hardworking, honest bastards all of them I've met, also Canadians.

The Poms are suss. There should be more screening of them

Have you walked down past the cry bar at 5 am in Townsville? There are just as many drunk bogans there. Most who migrate to Aus such as myself from Canada all love a drink and that is the beauty of commonwealth countries. We are very similar, sure there are a few bad apples and I agree 100% we need very tough immigration laws. I lived in London and there are allot of piss heads but its the same in Canada and Aus and don't forget the bloody kiwi's (I'm married to one).
Ask yourself who you would like to immigrate? Commonwealth countries or Americans?

Hey, gfresh, just tread carefully here, huh. I'm one of several Kiwi turned Aussies on this forum. Don't go starting an international incident with any unkind remarks about us.

gg, Most of these people are seeking asylum. Their own green and pleasant land has bee overrun by asylum seekers. It is a case of asylum seekers seeking asylum from the asylum seekers. It was bound to happen.

We are at the end of the chain. There is nowhere we can seek asylum.

You just made it up perhaps?

I'll agree though that England has gone to the dogs. At least part of the reason is their immigration policy which has imported large numbers of people whose religion, ideas and values have proven to be incompatible with mainstream British society. We're rapidly going down the same road in this country by making the same mistakes ourselves.

Careful analysis of the figures and personal research om my part yet to be published has led me to these figures.

Believe me it is serious, and we don't want their habits infiltrating into our social fabric.

Their behaviour at soccer matches overseas is atrocious, and at home many of their young women are legless by 9pm on any Friday or Saturday night.

Our youth need to be protected.

We should make it as difficult for them to come into our country, work in our country and receive any form of health assistance in our country as they do when we try to go into their country.

When we visit, we have to have a specific visa for a specific amount of time and be able to demonstrate we have enough $ to pay our way while we are there as well as have our ticket home. Who wants them here anyway, whinging, bludging and unwashed. Where does a pommy hide their money...under the soap.
