This may grow over time but I thought I'd share my process on submitting a stock tip in the monthly stock tipping competition.
For the purposes of this HowTo am using my Mar 2022 stock pick, HIO - Hawsons Iron.
Firstly, I find the relevant thread for the chosen stock using the SEARCH function.
Either by using the ASX code...
Or by the company name...
Either way will produce thread results with the ASX code and company name, in this case: HIO - Hawsons Iron.
Click on any link with the code and co. name.
Then I post the reasons for tipping that stock. I tend to use the stock's own ASX announcements.
After posting in the relevant stock thread, I then click on the # of the post I've just made. In this case it's #69, wait for the new window to display, leaving this window open. Note that I have already highlighted the URL.
Then I open the Monthly Stock Tipping thread in a new browser tab/window and create my monthly stock tip post.
I enter the ASX code which I highlight (Shift+Left Arrow key) and then I use the Insert Link function (or CTRL+K) on the Ribbon menu.
Here I've used HIO again, I return to the post # browser window and copy the highlighted URL from that page, return to the stock tipping page and paste that link into the link function pop-up box...
... remembering to click Insert.
When I'm done I click the Post button and bingo.
HIO (see how the cursor changes when hovering over the stock code? Go on, click it!)
By posting my stock tip in this way, it makes Joe's job that little bit easier in that Joe can click on the hot link, taking him straight to the relevant stock thread post I've made and he can instantly see that I've complied (or not, lol) with the requirements for the competition entry.
NOTE.
By keeping the relevant stock thread open on the post #, not only is it easier to copy the URL to place into the link but, it also helps if I need to amend that post for any reason.
Also, having the link in the the monthly comp. post, as the month progresses it makes it easier for me to add to that particular stock thread.
Cheers,
Craton.
