Michael McGurk Murder

ABC Newsradio said on 5pm news that Federal as well as State NSW Labor Parliamentarians may be implicated in "the tape" he had before he was killed.

There are so many potentials who might have wanted his murder it will take forever to sort it all out. Assuming the powers that be, want it that way.

The story i read also had the infamous (and ASF member) Jim Byrnes involved. Perhaps he can shed some light?

Sympathy goes out to the family though, money isn't worth dying over, especially not like that.

I'm not familiar with him. Whats he famous for?

Graeme Richardson (power broker in Keating's time) was on ABC Radio this evening saying he had heard the tape, that it is very indistinct, and rather than politicians being on it as reported, the voices are those of bureaucrats.

But then again, I'm not sure how much credibility Mr Richardson may lay claim to.

Prawn, I have the impression it was all much less about money and much more about power and criminality. Mr McGurk is apparently very well known to the police.

McGurk, Byrnes, Richardson, the NSW labour party ... Sydney is not without its share of 'colourful' characters no doubt about that ... ;):)

Sounds like McGurk was a little more 'colourful' than the rest.

The most enlightening comment so far for me was Premier Rees' response when asked if he was worried by the tape and he said "not personally":cautious:
