The best thing about Christmas being over is that there will be the relief of ten and a half months of being able to shop without being assaulted by bastardised, syrupy Christmas carols and songs.
Unbelievably, ABC radio still plays Bing Crosby singing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas", "The Little Drummer Boy" and sundry other ghastly stuff, plus every Christmas morning without fail bringing yet another repeat of Bing Crosby reciting "The Small One". Crosby recorded these way back in the 1940's!
Now there will just be the magazines sold with amazing new diets, guaranteed to remove all the weight gained by over-indulgence over Christmas, and the misery of all those who won't be able to pay their credit card bills when they arrive.
Never mind. It will all be the same again next year.
