Good Morning people,

My name is Gordon. I'm looking to get into trading. I have "dabbled" with trading years ago so I do have some experience as to the mindset of it.
I've been reading this board now for about a week. Have also spoke to few people for advise from them also.

I'm currently doing some diligence on software packages and courses. Don't know if I will do any of them, depends on how I feel after reseaching them.

Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts MDSnews.com.au, their services they provide, their courses and anything else about them.

I'm looking into day trading, part time first and then in a few years with much experience maybe even making it a full time position. I don't have any aspirations of "get rich quick" or anything like that. I do realise it's not easy and am not looking to make a quick buck or getting rich over night.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

heh, don't know much about mds but i traded it a couple of weeks ago.

from one noob to another, forget day trading. it sounds romantic but the harsh reality is you will get eaten up.

good luck

Thanks for the reply...I think perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't planning on trading their stock. They make a software package used for tracking and analyzing.

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about their software, using it. Not investing in them. But I think from the lack of responses it's probably not too many people.

Re: mds and market analyser software

MDS market analyser software
Did you end up buying this software.
What did you think of it for $440, I believe.

Do you have faith in it and what is the learning curve like for this software .
how good was your back-testing.
Any comments by others?

While I don't know how many traders are using their software and data feed, I can assure you that I have been a client for more than ten years. I am involved with several groups, who all make very good use of the current Market Analyser Professional. I like its custom interface that lets me write scripts to use for stock selection (nightly scanning), charting, and backtesting alike.

For a computer-illiterate person or a noob that lacks basic T/A know-how, the learning curve is probably daunting. When I bought the package, the deal included a six-week course in T/A and a number of follow-up seminars; I know of several people, who attended those sessions several times (no extra charges).

These days, I believe the education has been outsourced or left to the trader's own selection. Probably quite appropriate in most cases, given the abundance of t/a material freely available online.

PS: as you see, I haven't been around the ASF when you asked the question 5 years ago; and I did not trawl through all historic posts, so I only came across it when gg brought it up today.
