Thanks Julia.
He was about 3kms from the kuta explosion
Fortunately he'd been drinking all day and was too drunk to go into town.
Sometimes alcohol can be a blessing!
but my heart goes out to those who weren't so lucky.

UK spy chief warns of 30 terrorist plots

Britain's intelligence agency head says up to about 30 major terrorist plots were being planned in the country and that future threats could involve chemicals and nuclear technology.

Eliza Manningham-Buller, director-general of MI5, said young British Muslims were being groomed to become suicide bombers and that her agents were tracking some 1,600 suspects, most of whom were British-born and linked to Al Qaeda.

"We are aware of numerous plots to kill people and damage our economy. What do I mean by numerous? Five? Ten? No, nearer 30 ... that we know of," Dame Manningham-Buller said in a speech in London on Thursday that was reported by British media.

She was quoted as saying the plots were "priority one" cases.
Last year, Britain suffered its worst peace-time attack when four British Muslims blew themselves up on London's transport network, killing 52 commuters and wounding hundreds.

"My officers and the police are working to contend with some 200 groupings or networks, totalling over 1,600 identified individuals who are actively engaged in plotting or facilitating terrorist acts here and overseas," she said.
Dame Manningham-Buller said the number of cases being pursued by security services had risen by 80 per cent since January.

"Today we see the use of home-made improvised explosive devices. Tomorrow's threat may - and I suggest will - include the use of chemicals, bacteriological agents, radioactive materials and even nuclear technology," she said.

Extracts of her speech were carried by the BBC, the top-selling Sun tabloid, the Times and the Guardian.

Dame Manningham-Buller said it was clear from so-called "martyrdom" videos that suicide bombers were motivated in part by "their interpretation as anti-Muslim of UK foreign policy, in particular the UK's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan".

Giving potential terrorists suspended sentences is slightly irresponsible, giving short sentences is not too bright either.

But society with fixation on rehabilitation actually needs few nasty blows to wake up and treat potential threat appropriately.

....and to think Gen.McArthur told us about reds under under our beds...... I swear Senoir Rumsfeld can solve the Blitish question.Sorry I just could not resist my sarcarcism(schpelling?)

AAAAAGHHHH ...............

Hilarous THE SUN rubs shoulders with the heavyweights in journalism!!!!!

"so-called "martyrdom" videos "

No doubt these martydom videos are recorded for the obituary columns of Arabic tabloids. Plus Reutors of all suckers disclose this sort of passion, what is going on  Is this a backlash of the political landscape of yesterday ,Rumsfeld resigned ,Blair going ,Howard swaying over Hicks.....& Dame Manningham-Buller quotes the liturgy.......what is she trying to prop up!
