Log on after ETRADE takeover

Finally got into Etrade PRO.

Seems a bit better now, faster.

bah. I'm coming over from HSBC.

They've successfully transferred my watchlist but where's my portfolio!!

What is the URL to the old site that you guys are referring to?

It's not ok at all.
talk with them several times, found out still lot of glinch in their transfering system.
some portfolio still left over in HSBC server, yet we can sell them if we want.
not appear in our account position. will be fix by the end of today they said.
weird.. how can we sell something that we can't see ????

Finally got through to directshare help centre guy.Explained about the page unavailable when I tried to go to my direct share log on,therefore I went to etrade.Big mistake should not have used my usual link but used
www.directshares.com.au
This opened up a page that accepted the log on.
He seemed surprised there was no link to take you there in the first place.
Have a sneaking suspicion that directshare clients may be a hybrid, not exactly directshares, not exactly etrade.

Seems to be working OK now. Back to normal albeit very slow.

E*Trade doesn't seem improve on speed today.
If they cannot handle extra clients, why were they allowed to purchase HSBC?

I can use it now, but it's as slow as a dog. Just refreshing a quote can take a minute or more.

Forget trying to actually trade.

Are E*Trade required to provide certain service, or they can do whatever they like and it is up to us to stay with them or go?

Well, what a total crap day that was!

Not only was Etrade stuffed for most of the day, but my HSBC direct debit facility to the NAB is no longer useable, meaning I can't easily transfer funds via the Internet any more (at least no more than $5K a day), and while the XAO ended up down less than 1.5%, half of my stocks are down nearly 3.5% and one is down over 10%!

It now looks like I'm going to have to move my settlement account from HSBC to ANZ so that I can actually transfer a reasonable amount of funds into it via the Internet again. Etrade have already told me I have to apply for a new HIN to do that - I can't just change the settlement account of the existing HIN. And then I'll become an ordinary new Etrade customer, probably losing the lower HSBC brokerage rate.

More hoops guys, I need more hoops to jump through! :banghead:

Time to give up and take a holiday I think... :p:

I knew i should have liquidated on Friday!!!
WHAT A JOKE!!!

I'm up for a class action to recoup my losses from today...
i could have even sold in the morning and things would have been fine if it wasn't for bloody etrade!!!

the only successfull thing i did on e-trade today was when i clicked logoff...
and it said...

YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY LOGGED OFF!!!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

talk to them again.
all they said is "sorry, sorry and more stupid sorry".
don't they know that uploading data on Trading Hours is STUPID ???
lose a lot today due to stupidity of "THE BEST ONLINE STOCKBROKING ever"
jeez... what a joke

GP,

I hope this isn't going to be trouble

I had never logged into my normal HSBC savings account, only ever went to the HSBC Stockbroking to do transfers. I have now applied to get a pin # to access my savings account at the HSBC here: http://www.hsbc.com.au/personal/ifs/logon.html

Anyway, are you saying that you can only direct debit from my "other" (you use NAB) account into the HSBC savings account $5000 at a time?

Can't you do an account transfer through your "other" account into the HSBC savings account, any amount you like? ie: the other way around?

Cheers SB

What a load of crap they are.Get 1-20 trades for $27.95,21+ $$16.50.
For this there doen't seem to be any research to speak of,at least directshares had aegis with some kind of feed back.
Service can be upgraded by paying$32.95 1-10 shares,11-20 $27.45. 21+ $21.95.Don't know what happens if you upgrade and don't buy from them.
The old directshares interface was nothing to write home about but at least everything was in place.
In my portfolio I could see how much my shares cost in the first place the bid and ask,the last sale % up or down the total value and by clicking on the asx code went to course of sales with hi lo vol etc.
This new one is a dogs breakfast.
Everything was so slow today I ended up giving up.God help anyone who trades on a daily basis the way the market was today together with etrade.
Am looking at a couple of other options this week,I liked directshares because it came and went by direct debit and credit from st george account, bet after today that doesn't seem so important.

One more stupid thing when I check my portfolio at the moment it shows my shares aquired 11-9-06 cost;0.00 for every one.May be eadjusted one day,who knows?
