From someone who runs a SMSF, I run about 60% dividend shares with franking credits and about 40% cash. It gives me a return of about 7%, which supports my pension.
Day trading isn't my bag, and with the economy not showing any significant signs of upside, all I comment on is shares that interest me and are not speculative.
It might not be exciting, but when it is your sole source of income, you don't want it exciting. Just my opinion.
When it comes to trading, there seem to be plenty of learned charters and traders on the forum, they seem to post on shares they have knowledge on unlike some forums where ramping is rampant. IMO
